If you were to have your last party, ever – how many people would be there? If this question itself is unsettling it is because you want your life to have an impact. A Big One. Counting the people we impact, here's an estimate

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk rejection.
To place you ideas, your dreams, before a crowd is to risk ridicule.

To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk disappointment.
To try is to risk failure.

But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

Those who risk nothing, do nothing, have nothing, and become nothing.

They may avoid present suffering and sorrow, but they will not learn, feel, change, grow, love, or live.

Chained by their fear, they are slaves who have forfeited their freedom.

Only a person who risks is free.

Is fear preventing you from taking a necessary risk today?

There is a story of Timurlenk, the great Mogul emperor, a man whom destiny had intended to be great. Yet he was not awakened to that greatness. One day tired of the strife of daily life and overwhelmed by his worldly duties, he was lying on the ground in a forest waiting for death to come and take him. A dervish passed by and saw him asleep and recognized in him the man that destiny had intended to become a great personality. The dervish struck him with his stick and Timurlenk woke up and asked, 'Why have you come to trouble me here? I have left the world and have come to the forest. Why do you come to trouble me?' The dervish said, 'What gain is there in the forest? You have the whole world before you. It is there that you will find what you have to accomplish, if only you realize the power that is within you.' He said, 'No, I am too disappointed, too pessimistic for any good to come to me. The world has wounded me. I am sore, my heart is broken. I will no longer stay in this world.'

True and lasting inner peace can never be found in external things.
It can only be found within in.
And then, once we find and nurture it with ourselves,
it radiates outward.

You are a child of the Universe,
no less than the trees and the stars.
You have a right to be here and
whether or not it is clear to you,
No doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

Life will never be perfect, no matter how hard you try. Even if you pour your heart and soul into it, you will never have that perfection you seek. There will always be broken hearts, there will always be days where nothing goes right. But you must accept and learn that even the most imperfect things will always be made better with love and laughter.

So smile every chance you get.
Not because life has been easy, perfect
or exactly as you had anticipated,
but because you choose to be happy and grateful
for all the good things you do have
and all the problems you know you don't have.

It’s a lesson I learned in my life. If you sit around and wait for your life to turn out how you want it to be, it won't. You have to come out your comfort zone. Take risks. Who cares if you make a few mistakes along the way? It's better than not doing anything and not trying. I had to definitely build some doors. Find out what makes you happy, get inspired and build lots and lots of doors!
